Terms of Use (English)

1. Acceptance

By using the Sofra Dayma («سفرة دايمة») app or the shared-list page you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. The app is owned and run by Amwaj Technology, Egypt; legal name, commercial registration and address [for legal review]. If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic version applies [for legal review].

2. The service

The app helps you plan a weekly lunch menu to a weekly budget, shows more than 200 Egyptian home recipes, most with links to the original chef's recipe, builds a shopping list grouped by place type (vegetable seller, butcher, supermarket) with approximate prices, lets you track the ingredients you have at home and your cooked history («طبختها»), offers the «اسأل الطبّاخ» (Ask the Chef) cooking assistant, reads receipt photos, follows your actual spend, and has an optional nightly reminder. The app is free and shows ads.

3. Account and age

• You can use the app without an account. An account (Google sign-in only) is optional and lets you keep your data across phones.
• You are responsible for the security of your phone and Google account. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
• The app is for users aged 13 and over; users under 18 should use it with a parent or guardian's consent [for legal review].

4. Prices are approximate

• Prices shown are approximate and for reference only, calculated from public sources. Actual prices vary by place, area, time, brand and offers.
• Prices are not an offer to sell, not a commitment by any shop, and not a recommendation of where to buy. The app never recommends a particular store, and we do not guarantee price accuracy or availability.
• The menu and budget are planning aids; purchasing decisions and actual spending are your responsibility.

5. Recipes and health

• Recipes are general home-cooking guidance, not medical or nutritional advice. If you have a health condition or special diet, consult a professional.
• Checking ingredients for allergies (such as nuts, shellfish, gluten or dairy) and following food-safety practice is your responsibility.
• Some dish photos are AI-generated illustrations; your result may look different.
• "Original recipe" links open videos or pages owned by their creators (the chefs and their channels), outside the app in YouTube or your browser. We are not responsible for their content; their quantities may differ from the app's, and their owners may remove them. YouTube's or the site's terms apply.

6. Receipt reading

• Receipt reading is automatic and can be wrong. A review screen appears before saving, and you are responsible for checking the items, prices and total before you save.
• Photos are sent to Google's Gemini service on the free tier, where Google may use them to improve its services (see section 5 of the Privacy Policy). Please do not photograph receipts that show personal information, or images unrelated to your shopping.
• Scanning is free under a fair-use limit (currently 20 scans per day), which we may change.

7. «اسأل الطبّاخ» (Ask the Chef)

• «اسأل الطبّاخ» is an automatic assistant that suggests dishes from the app's recipes only; its replies can be wrong or unsuitable for your situation. The quantities and prices that count are the ones shown in the app, prices are approximate (section 4), and section 5 on health and allergies applies to its suggestions too.
• Typed messages are sent to Google's Gemini service on the free tier, where Google may use them to improve its services (see section 6 of the Privacy Policy). Please do not type personal information, and use it for cooking topics only.
• Typed messages have a daily limit (currently 15); the buttons do not count towards it. We may change the limit and may offer plans with a higher limit in future (section 11). The automatic replies may be unavailable at times; the buttons keep working.

8. Shared lists

A shared list link is read-only; anyone who has it can open it for 30 days or until you stop sharing. Share it only with people you know.

9. Acceptable use

You may not copy or scrape the app's content, reverse-engineer it, try to access other people's data or our servers without authorisation, exceed or get around usage limits, upload unlawful or abusive content, or use the service commercially without our written permission.

10. Intellectual property

The app, its design, our texts and images and the name «سفرة دايمة» belong to Amwaj Technology [for legal review]. Chefs' names and content belong to their owners. We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable licence to use the app.

11. Free service, provided as is

The service is currently free and supported by ads (our own ads and Google AdMob ads; see section 7 of the Privacy Policy), and is provided "as is" and "as available". Ads come from their advertisers, and we are not responsible for the products or sites advertised [for legal review]. We may change the service or add or remove features. If we add paid features in future we will say so and update these terms first. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on approximate prices, recipes, receipt-reading results or «اسأل الطبّاخ» replies, or from temporary unavailability of the service [for legal review]. This does not affect any right that cannot be waived under Egyptian law, including the Consumer Protection Law [for legal review].

13. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in «حسابي» → «مسح الحساب», or by email. See Delete account.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the competent Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute [for legal review].

15. Changes and contact
